If you are looking for an experienced attorney who is passionate and committed to helping clients understand and protect their rights, contact me, attorney Debra Ackerman. For 24 years, I have been a zealous legal advocate in and out of the courtroom.

A graduate of Rhode Island College and Washington College of Law at American University, I began my legal career working as assistant counsel during a session at the Maryland General Assembly. After that, I worked for a number of small and large firms in the Washington, D.C., area, handling everything from large-firm litigation to working for a solo practitioner.

I opened my own practice in 1993 to deliver quality and dedicated representation to clients in the areas of family law, criminal defense and personal injury law. As mother of a teenaged daughter myself, I understand the concerns and difficulties that many parents face. This allows me to relate to my clients on a more personal level and provide counsel that is tailored to individual client needs.

Admitted to practice in the state courts of Maryland and Washington, D.C., I am a member of the Montgomery County Bar Association and the Maryland Bar Association. I also volunteer my time at the pro se clinic at Montgomery County Court.
